To achieve this modern look, one of the most important elements was to have the the blackened finish be a true black to match the trim and the black granite countertops. Getting the color just right was important so that the range hood would fit in with the rest of the kitchen and provide a bold contrast against the white subway tiles and create a strong focal point in the kitchen.

We worked very closely with Tamara Magel and her team to find just the right black tone for the steel hood. This proved to be a somewhat arduous task since the concept of the color ‘black’ can be subjective. To make sure we had the proper color, we traded finish samples back and forth until we had confirmation and approval that we had the right one. This process can sometimes take more time than choosing a standard color or regular metal finish, but the end result is worth it.
