Countertops are the often unsung heroes of kitchen design. Appreciated by all, they're not often called out for the influence that countertops have on the overall aesthetic of the kitchen. We were thrilled when East Coast Home & Design Magazine told us that they were putting together a feature on countertop materials for their 2017 Kitchen & Bath Issue, and asked us to be a part of it. This was a great opportunity to showcase some of our most popular countertop materials and to talk about where we think countertop trends are heading for 2017.

For the article on countertop materials, we focused on premium wide plank wood countertops, live edge wood countertops, and our newest line of cold cast metal countertops and bar tops. The trends we're seeing for 2017 are a continuation of what we've been seeing, modern lines, mixed materials, and interesting details.

Showing our materials against the more traditional countertop choices like granite and marble help to demonstrate that there are a plethora of options when choosing your countertop surface.

Concrete and Zinc in a Connecticut Manor Home

In addition to showcasing our popular materials, we were also featured in the lead story of the Kitchen & Bath feature section. This article features a project we worked on with Charles Hilton Architects. You can see photos of our concrete and zinc countertops, plus and a quilted zinc backsplash.

We're very proud of this project, a French Normandy residence in Connecticut was done a few years ago. The concrete and zinc are perfect materials for this elegant manor home. The contrast between the modern materials and the wood cabinetry and rustic details throughout the kitchen are the perfect mix.
