  • How to maintain an Industrial style:
This method lets the oxidation and tarnish build up without interfering and allows a unique patina. This will happen gradually and may look spotty or strange at first until it covers the surface. This look is not for everyone but requires minimal maintenance. Day to Day: Windex or mild soap for daily cleaning. Trivets and cutting boards are recommended. Avoid sliding heavy objects across the surface if trying to avoid scratches. Long term care: Patina has no protective coating. Sanding and buffing will remove scratches but will also remove the patina. Patina will return but in a different pattern. Acidic items such as lemon juice will remove patina.
  • Things to know about Patina:
If your countertop came with an applied patina it will continue to evolve with use over time for the lifetime of the product. Patina can be removed easily so care must be taken. Windex or soap and water can be used for daily cleaning without removing the patina. Patina will change with wear and tear and creates a unique pattern of use that cannot be recreated. The patina itself is not under manufacturers warranty. Brooks Custom does not guarantee it's patina finish to match the patina of a sample from another manufacturer.
